Town Centre Clinic

Two empty retail units in this shopping centre were converted into a local drop-in Town Clinic.

Working with representatives from Enfield Council and North Middlesex hospital, we developed the programme to meet the tight timescales, as well as many aspects of the overall design.

Due to the official opening date having been set, we were required be on site within five days of receiving the order. The resultant procurement was accelerated using our established suppliers who, due to our long-standing relationships, were able to accommodate our urgent requests.

To provide adequate space for the new clinic facilities, we knocked through the adjoining wall of the units to create one unified area. This expanded space was configured to accommodate a reception area, public waiting room, consulting rooms, a laboratory, staff rooms, staff kitchen, storage areas and three toilets. The reception area desking was constructed by our in-house joinery workshop.

Works included the installation of all partitioning, suspended ceilings (using hygienic plastic faced tiles), decorations throughout, vinyl safety flooring and hygienic wall cladding.

Given the limited on-site storage facilities and access to the pedestrianised area, we utilised our head office to store materials, delivering to site on an as-needed basis.
