Town Centre Clinic - Electrical
This fast track design and build project created a new health clinic in this busy shopping centre from two empty retail units. To allow longevity for the two five-year leases, the scope was to keep the units separate in the design, although working as one unit.
Just four weeks of this multi-disciplinary build were allowed for the electrical works. The challenge was to work with up to 20 contractors on the site, scheduling in the electrical installation in and around the other trades. In addition, our electrical design needed to remain adaptable, as many design decisions were made on site.
New meters were connected and new distribution boards installed along with all new electrical wiring (including data cabling), small power, LED lighting, fire alarm, intruder alarm, CCTV, door access controls and air conditioning to all areas.
We fitted environmentally friendly LED panels for ease of maintenance. The dado trunking was future-proof designed with the flexibility to add further outlets in the event of space reconfiguration. Wafer thin lighting fittings were fitted so as not to clash with the mechanical ducting in the ceiling void.
Touch screen information panels were connected for use by the public, and an information TV was suspended from the ceiling in the reception area. As the reception desk was constructed by our in house joinery workshop, we worked alongside the fabric team to design the power and data installation to suit.
The result was a light, bright clinic, fully ready for the occupancy on the scheduled opening date.
