Town Centre Clinic - Mechanical

This refurbishment of two existing retail units to create a Health Clinic demanded a welcoming and comfortable working and consulting environment.

The air conditioning units were sized to accommodate the requirement for each separate unit, providing ample heating or cooling to each area.

We installed a dedicated air conditioning split system within all rooms, with exception to areas used for storage and WC’s. This system provides dedicated heating or cooling for the individual occupant, with control of their own comfort level. The indoor units are wall mounted within the areas for individual occupancy, and ceiling cassettes installed in communal areas. Each unit is served by an external condenser unit mounted at high level on the rear façade of the building.

Fresh air ventilation has been provided throughout the entire floor via two heat recovery ventilation units. The two units are part of two separate supply systems; one for each of the two retail units in case of future separation. The fresh air is distributed by galvanised steel spiral ductwork and ceiling mounted air diffusers. The extract system is effected through the use of a return air void which extracts air through ceiling mounted egg crate grilles.

The WC’s and Disposal Room have been fitted with their own dedicated extract system comprising circular air valves.

Upon the completion of the installation, testing and commissioning was carried out to ensure correct air balancing of the ventilation system – also ensuring that it met the original design parameters
