Mechanical expertise was added to our skills portfolio in 2009.  Originally undertaking air conditioning and ventilation projects to complement our fabric works, over a few busy years the work load increased and the projects became larger, stand-alone and more complex as we expanded our client base.

Established and now led by the Head of Mechanical Services Bob Ford, the Mechanical Division now boasts a team of Supervisors, a Project Manager and several Mechanical Engineers, delivering a variety of works ranging from small £5k installations up to £1m fully designed and coordinated single projects. The Mechanical Division is a member of B&ES and REFCOM accredited.

Our Supervisors have specialist experience across all aspects of Mechanical Services and are adept at coordinating all Mechanical & Electrical services in conjunction with our Electrical Division.  

Collectively as a team, the Mechanical Division provides an exceptionally high standard of technical and dedicated expertise required for the Design, Planning and Delivery of projects for the wider SW Bruce Group and directly to our expanding client base.

Our engineers are trained in MEP AutoCAD, enabling us to provide detailed design and coordination drawings for all projects.

We deliver Mechanical projects across the company’s focused sectors; from healthcare, banking and retail to schools, commercial offices and museums.  We cover all aspects of Mechanical Services including:

Ventilation – General fresh air systems, dirty extract, kitchen extract, dedicated extract, smoke extract, heat recovery, variable air volume and constant air volume systems

Air Conditioning – Chilled water systems, LTHW systems, DX refrigeration and VRV cooling systems, fan coil units

Domestic & Public Health Services – Hot water generation, hot water distribution, boosted cold water, mains cold water, pumped drainage and general waste services

LTHW Heating – Commercial central heating systems, gas and oil fired boilers, boiler plantroom installations, vented and unvented systems

Controls – Building Management Systems, we have experience in a variety of manufacturers, including TREND, from panel design and installation to full system controls, including the field devices and software programming/upgrades

Gas – Commercial gas supplies to kitchens, heaters and boilers, including emergency controls, isolation and fire alarm interfaces

Testing & Commissioning – Working with our specialist suppliers, we undertake full testing, commissioning and validation of all water and air systems.  These are compiled and issued to our clients in a detailed report format, also forming part of a project’s O&M Manual.
