The Plough
Nestled amongst the famous ‘Golden Mile’ of nurseries and garden centres at Crews Hill in Enfield, The Plough has been part of the McMullen portfolio since 1905.
An ever-popular stop off for visiting gardeners, the pub underwent a thorough refurbishment at the beginning of 2016, sprucing up ready for the busy spring and summer seasons ahead.
Following a full strip-out, the internal timbers were sand-blasted and a new boarded ceiling and stone floor finish installed, all forming the foundations of the revived horticulturally themed interior.
A new fireplace surround was constructed in the conservatory and the entryway to this light and airy space was widened, giving the pub a more open plan look and feel.
Complementing the Edwardian gardening theme, the ladies and gents toilet cubicles were replaced with new timber stud and door designs. The bar areas were altered and then redecorated using colours and wallpaper styles reflecting this bygone age.
Twentieth century touches included refurbishment of the professional catering kitchen and boiler room, installation of a new cold room, and provision of a new music system and electronic security.
Externally, the whole pub was renovated, incorporating timber repairs, new timber cladding, new resin paving, redecorations and contemporary signage.
